IB Study Guides : Physics for the IB Diploma by Tim Kirk Review
Having purchased Biology for the IB Diploma (by Andrew Allott) and Chemistry for the IB Diploma (by Geoffrey Neuss) I was very enthusiastic about purchasing Physics for the IB Diploma.
Let me begin by expressing my deepest thanks for the former two books, which I purchased in high school while taking IB Chem and Bio. I cannot stress how incredibly helpful they were for not only studying for regular course tests, but studying for the IB exams! They reduced my study time for the courses immensely, and best of all I hardly had to open the course textbooks (which have so much extraneous information that you do not need to know) and excelled because the book summarizes and simplifies so well. I found that they literally cover everything you might see on the IB tests. Furthermore, they were still indispensable to be during my college introductory courses at the University of Washington.
I also purchased the history one, which I also highly recommend.
Any ways, onto the book at hand. This book is great at summarizing the content that it does include, but since I purchased it for a college introductory physics course, it unfortunately did not include much of the content that I needed. That said, if you are in IB Physics, it will probably cover exactly the content you need.
TL;DR: In summary, great book for IB Physics, not as helpful for an introductory physics course at a university due to limited pertinent content.
